HammerFall is a band that truly understands the essence of classic heavy metal. Their productions are based on clear guitar harmonies, strong choruses and a drive that feels both traditional and modern. Joacim Can’s powerful voice acts as a stable centerpiece in the soundscape while Oscar Dronjak’s riffs give the songs a heroic and energetic character.
Among their most famous songs are Hearts on Fire, Let the Hammer Fall and Last Man Standing. Hammerfall was started in 1993 by Oscar Dronjak and he wanted to make classic heavy metal, The name Hammerfall found Dronjak in the book The Knockers by Stephen King. The inspiration to write it HammerFall with a capital F came from the world of wrestling.
HammerFall have played a key role in reviving interest in traditional power metal in Europe in the late 1990s. Albums like Glory to the Brave and Legacy of Kings quickly became favorites among metal fans, and the band has since built a solid international following through touring and consistent releases. Their ability to stay true to their style while evolving their productions is impressive.

In SVT’s tribute program Alla tiders Melodifestival 2005, Hammerfall performed Roger Pontares’ När vindarna viskar mitt namn.
Before the 2006 Turin Olympics, Hammerfall made a music video for Hearts On Fire with the Swedish women’s national curling team (team Norberg).
Before the 2006 European Athletics Championships in Gothenburg, Hammerfall made a music video for The Fire Burns Forever with the Swedish national athletics team.
